~SALES PAGES & SALES LETTERS~

Why A Sales Page or Letter?

When it comes to selling anything… communication is key. A well-crafted Sales Page or Sales Letter can provide potential customers with all the information they need to make a purchasing decision right then and there. They frame what you have to offer in an irresistable way that causes people to REALLY want to buy (from you!) through emotion & desire… as well as enough logic to give perfect reason for the investment. They’re your chance to persuade your potential customer, helping them to see how great your product is & why…

They also show the potential customer how much better their life could be (& will be of course because you sell something of great worth!')… & they showcase the ways it’s improved other customers’ lives.

Companies of All Sizes Are Using Sales Letters in Different Formats~

They can be online, in a video format called VSLs (Video Sales Letters), or in good old printed form. Even huge tech companies like Facebook, Google, and Snap have reported that direct-response marketing, which includes sales letters, is doing really well for them.

Experts from the banking and investment firm, J.P. Morgan, found that while overall ad spending has gone down, many businesses believe that direct-response advertising (like Sales Letters or Sales Pages) is staying strong (says AWAI, the American Writers and Artists Institute).

why are businesses going back to traditional marketing tactics like using direct response sales letters?

Well, it's because a well-planned campaign can do a lot of great things all at once:

  • It helps generate new leads.

  • It creates a feeling of urgency.

  • It gets responses quickly.

  • It can be easily tracked.

  • And best of all, it gives measurable results

The Stats Are Encouraging!
  • A well-written sales letter can have a higher return on investment (ROI) than other marketing channels, with some businesses reporting a return of $10 or more for every dollar spent on direct mail campaigns (according to Business News Daily).

  • Longer sales pages or sales letters increase leads by 220% compared to ‘above the fold’ call-to-actions (referring to only what you first see when you open a webpage before scrolling down)…because long pages give you more opportunity to paint a clear picture of your product, as well as to handle objections so customers want to buy all the more (Growth Marketing Pro).

  • A well-designed sales page can increase website conversion rates by up to 225% (AWAI).

  • A well-crafted sales page or sales letter helps with search engine optimization (SEO), as high-quality content & targeted keywords can improve a website's search engine rankings & visibility.

  • Companies with 3+ sales pages generate 10 times the amount of leads than companies without any.

  • In a case study, one business increased their sales conversion rate by 300% by optimizing their sales page with clear calls-to-action, testimonials, and a money-back guarantee.

As for Using Snail Mail for Sales Letters...
the Stats Are Very Good for Someone Looking To Invest in This Option:

What few people realize is that printed sales letters have been used by direct marketers for hundreds of years. Their use goes back as far as the early 1800s. The only other marketing channels available for many years were newspaper and later magazine ads. But “circulars” were less expensive and did what was expected … drove consumers to take immediate action.

  • Sales Letters still perform quite well on this old-fashioned platform as an extra way to market your product. While it may seem that the entire world has gone digital, traditional mail still has a solid place in marketing. According to a Marketing Charts survey direct mail can increase your return on investment (ROI) when combined with other marketing channels. Among survey respondents, 59% said that adding direct mail into a multichannel approach resulted in a good ROI. Another 7% said their ROI was very good.

  • The direct mail marketing service Jet Mail has also reported that its customers continue to see high engagement rates. In its 2021 analysis of the direct mail marketing space, Jet Mail noted that some campaigns involving 2,500 mailers yielded a 30% response rate – 750 responses! (a high % for any form or marketing today).

By comparison, according to GetResponse’s 2022 email marketing statistics, North American marketing email open and click-through rates are 23.53% and 3.86%. These numbers are certainly lower than 30%. Clearly, direct mail can still be valuable.

  • A 2022 Response Rate Report from the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) says that direct mail campaigns using a letter-size envelope generated 112% ROI. That's a 19% improvement over the already high email campaign ROI.

  • According to 2021 USPS (United States Postal Service) research, direct mail is a popular alternative in marketing. They say 72% of the youngest customers surveyed (Gen Z) claim that they look forward to getting physical mail with excitement. 38% of those surveyed visited a website after receiving relevant direct mail. 71% of Gen X survey respondents felt that direct mail is more personal than digital communication... And a majority of millennials surveyed said that direct mail feels more secure as a way of communication.

WHICHEVER WAY you choose to send or post your sales letter

(be it via email, snail mail, or a page on your website) the statistics show the great impact that a well-crafted sales page or sales letter can have on a business's revenue and bottom line. By creating content for specific audiences, using clear calls-to-action, and incorporating social proof and other persuasive elements, businesses can increase their conversion rates and drive growth and success.

A sales page or sales letter is an effective tool for generating leads and increasing revenue, especially when combined with other marketing strategies such as email marketing, content marketing, and SEO.

If You Want to Make a Real Connection
With Your Audience...
Create a Sales Page or Letter
to Inspire Action

What’s The Difference?

A Sales Page

is like a flashy billboard trying to grab your attention with bright colors and bold headlines, and all the bells and whistles. It's designed to showcase a product and highlight its features and typically has a lot of visual elements, like images and videos. It's all about making a quick impression and getting your reader to take action.

A Sales Letter

on the other hand is more like a heartfelt conversation with someone you know. It's personal… it speaks directly to the reader… it's all about building a relationship and establishing trust. It’s less about the photos and more about the written word. Sometimes a Sales Letter is known as a “long form” sales page.

A well-crafted sales letter can feel like it was written just for you, touching on your pain points and offering a solution that speaks directly to you.

So, Which One Should You Use?

They BOTH work

just think about whether you want a quicker, more powerful punch or a longer heartfelt conversation…

Do you want something short and to the pointor drawn out and more intimate.

It depends on your audience, your product, and your personal style. In either case they both help your business to grow.

Short-form Sales Pages perform best when you don’t need to work hard to persuade your prospect to buy. That includes when:

  • Your product or serlvice is low-cost

  • Prospects are already familiar with your brand or product

  • Your product or service is low-risk

  • Your product or service is straightforward

  • Your product or service requires minimal commitment from potential customers

Both explain how the product can solve a problem

that the reader is facing & Both have the purpose

to convince them to take action…

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make

in considering having a sales page or sales letter written for their product or service is thinking,

“It’s too big of an investment!”. Sigh….sadly, when there’s no investment made…. there’s no chance of seeing the fruits of your investment. The investment is solely to increase your business and sales, to make you significantly MORE than the initial investment itself…. it’s more like handing over temporary money only to be handed back a much greater sum in return rather than losing money altogether…. but only if you have the patience to wait! Many struggle with taking the risk in the first place…and with having the foresight and patience to allow their investment to multiply with time.

The decision is ultimately up to you, of course, and you should do what feels right for your business

but I suggest you do yourself a favor and try something new. Trust me, you’ll love the results!

The vast majority of breakthroughs happen when something is radically changed in a business, not through the “safe” tests. If you’re looking for a potential breakthrough in your profits, I highly recommend getting out of your comfort zone and trying a sales page or letter to get your products and services moving fast.

Sales Pages Are a Hefty Business Expense,

But the Great Return on Investment

Makes Them Most Worthwhile! =)

It’s About The Customers Needs

& How You Help Them~

A lot of businesses make a mistake when it comes to their marketing strategy. Instead of focusing on what the customer needs, they focus on their own product or service, or solely on selling and profit. But if you want customers to buy your stuff, and if you want their loyalty… you need to make sure that your message is centered around them and the problems they have.…. their pain points, their needs, how to make their lives better!

When you put your customers first in your advertising, they'll feel like their opinions matter and they’ll feel better understood. Studies show that companies that give importance and priority to their customers can be up to 60% more successful than those that don't.

Taking Care of the Customer First Matters:
  • Research shows that in 86% of buying decisions, the experience provided by the company matters more than the price. And companies that invest in providing a better customer experience typically double their earnings within three years of making it a priority (Super Office)

  • Companies that give importance to their customers, putting them first can be up to 60% more successful than those that don't (according to Digital Copywriter)

  • 96% of customers say customer experience is important in their choice of loyalty to a brand (Forbes)

When companies focus on the customerseveryone benefits. Businesses flourish… employees are happier at work and the customers get the information they need to make informed purchases with confidence that the company cares about their needs more than making a sale.

“Sales letters aren't about getting someone to buy something; they're about getting someone to feel something. To connect with them on a deeper level, to offer a solution to a problem they may not even realize they have...

A well-crafted sales letter is like having a one-on-one conversation with your ideal customer, and that connection can be the start of a lifelong relationship."
